Christmas for Children

Children are happy when they receive gifts, loved by their parents, when they receive the approval of relatives and friends.

Birthdays and Christmas are the most anticipated occasions. They believe in Santa Claus, especially the shower of gifts from Santa.

My children, when they were kids at age five, six and eight were no different. One Christmas eve, each had his own  sock hanged for "Santa's" visit. But the morning of Christmas, they found it all empty. They were heartbroken. I just told them Santa forgot to pass by.

A few days after, during our family Christmas/reunion party, several Santas arrived: Santa Flavie and Eddie, Susan and Romy, Freddie and Vilma, Luchie. My three sons got a sackful of gifts instead of sockful one. Santa Elvie and Geoff,  and Ester and Alex sent theirs too from Canada and England.

At an early age, children should be taught  the truth, no fairy tales, no Santa Claus, This is strategy of Satan, an illusion  to remove God from lives, but the belief in our Lord Jesus should be ingrained.

Proverbs 13:24 Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

Matthew 19:13-15 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.

Proverbs 23:13-14 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol.
.
