Alec, the Argumentative Grandson

Alec, my third grandson, appears to be like his dad Russel with inexhaustible energy as a child.

Alec, during his prenatal days,  was giving his parents a bad time
during their sleep. giving them his karate kicks! And when he was seven months old, his parents had to go to Tacloban  to do medical mission to the Yolanda-ravaged area, he was left under the care of a relative. The poor woman lost her tooth not under the care of a dentist, but it was the power of Alec's seeming karate kick though inadvertently done, while Alec was sound asleep.

Alec could speak some words but he argues with his hand motion as seen above. Arguing with his mom because he was commanded to get down from his favorite place, the stairs. And who would not argue, he was already seated comfortably watching television. That trait was passed down by both parents so am not surprised.

With that trait he could be a law maker, patterned after God's laws or better yet, a preacher spreading the Word, and standing for the truth. I pray to God it is going to be the latter or whatever is God's will.

Bible Verses about Children, Parents

Exodus 20:12  “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
Exodus 21:15-17  “Whoever strikes his father or                 his mother shall be put to death. (16) “Whoever                  steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in                    possession of him, shall be put to death. (17)                        “Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put           to death.

Ephesians 6:1-4  Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (2) “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), (3) “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” (4) Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Proverbs 23:13-14 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9  “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. (5) You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (6) And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. (7) You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. (8) You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. (9) You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. (2) For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, (3) heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, (4) treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, (5) having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Colossians 3:20-21 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. (21) Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

Proverbs 1:8-9 Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, (9) for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.

Proverbs 30:17 The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures.

Proverbs 7:1-3  My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; (2) keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; (3) bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.

Leviticus 19:3 Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and you shall keep my Sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

Deuteronomy 11:19  You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise

Psalms 78:2-8 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, (3) things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. (4) We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. (5) He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, (6) that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, (7) so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; (8) and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God.

Psalms 103:13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.

Proverbs 10:1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.

Psalms 112:1-2 Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! (2) His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
