Last Friday, I had to pick up my grandchild, Kayelle, from their home in Cainta, about 20 kms. away from my own place. She was with her nanny who she prefers than me, her grandma. I could feel a bit of sadness. I guess children is like that. If you haven't seen your grandchild for a bit of time, say for a month, the child shifts her love to the person who is with her on a daily basis, not weekly or longer.
Children do not want to lose people they are attached to. They could feel if a person is to be trusted or not, or if he /she is cruel.
So if you are looking for a a longtime mate, introduce the person to the child and see how the child would react to that person. Children have that God-given instinct to discern if a person could be trusted or not.
My one day holiday with Kayelle was a happy one although a bit tiring because of the commute. But I really enjoyed Kayelle.
